"We want to move mountains, push
limits and stand up for our ideals – We want to see integration in action." It is with these thoughts
that Denise Schindler founded "EISs on Wheels", which is supported by a Bavarian project called EISs -
"Erlebte Inklusive Sportschule" (English – Interactive Inclusive School for Sports). This project
welcomes both disabled and non-disabled children to enjoy physical fitness together.
» Behind the Scenes.
The Bavarian Association for Disabled and Rehabilitating Athletes (German:
Behinderten- und Rehabilitations-Sportverband or BVS) established the first of now 25 inclusive
schools for sports (EISs) in 2009. For the first time, EISs has succeeded in establishing a Bavarian
network community which offers local sports activities for disabled children. In each EISs sports
group, disabled and non-disabled children are becoming more socially competent through integrative
team building activities. This organization enables disabled children to participate in adequate
sports activities directly in their local area. These activities are designed not to separate
children, but to bring them together. Almost all sports are offered to these children including
sailing, children's gymnastics and karate.
» Over the Alps with "EISs on Wheels".
Each year, Denise works together with "EISs on Wheels" by joining a
passionate team of disabled and non-disabled cyclists for the ENDURA Alpen-Traum cycling
tour. The athletes compete in one-day cycling races over the Alps and ride at high altitudes
of at least 4,000 meters up to 6,000 meters. With enthusiasm and joy, they pedal for a good
cause. The team's entry fees are donated to charity and literally bring this event into
motion. So far, the entry fees have been used to help finance a sports wheelchair and an
athletic prosthesis.

» Help us get the wheels in motion!
With their event "EISs on Wheels", Denise and her team continue to demonstrate the importance of
supporting inclusion in sports. Financial support makes it possible for them to continue
offering disabled children local integrative sports activities. It also helps finance training
programs for group leaders, tools and athletic equipment. Every donation helps and will bring a
lasting smile to someone's face!
